Why Hufflepuffs Rock

It has come to my attention that a lot of people look down on Hufflepuffs. Naming no names. I've met Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, and, yes, Slytherins, who have went 'What, you're a Hufflepuff?! Seriously?' and disconnected.

(Yes, I have discovered the wonders of Omegle. It's an illness. Don't judge me.)

So, I thought I'd compile a short list of reasons why Hufflepuff is awesome.

A lot of people think that us Hufflepuffs are a bunch of wimps. Not true- our symbol, the badger, has been well chosen. Sure, we might be peaceful most of the time, but we are also deeply loyal. Threaten our families or friends? Hey badger don't care about your excuses. He'll just tear your face clean off anyway. Heehee :P

Look at the three best known Hufflepuffs.

Cedric Diggory- after winning a Quidditch match to see Harry had fallen off his broom, he tried to call it off and organise a rematch. Isn't that lovely? He had won, but he wanted to be fair. He showed that again in the third task of the Triwizard Tournament. He was willing to walk away from eternal glory (not to mention a thousand Galleons) and let Harry win because he'd saved him. How many people could honestly say they'd do that?

Nymphadora Tonks- well. She married, gave birth, and went to fight and die, all in a year. She could probably have got away with staying at home with Teddy Lupin, but she didn't. She went and fought against Voldemort, to try and secure a better world for her son. That takes a special kind of bravery.

And, finally, JK Rowling. Yes, our Queen is a self confessed Hufflepuff. And proud. So she should be.

Also, not only are Hufflepuffs brave, loyal, and friendly- they're also really cute. That Honey badger that could tear your face of snuffles about and looks so sweet.... And our house colours are black and yellow, right? BUMBLEBEES.

Our common room also looks like a Hobbit hole, and is the only one with a repellant for intruders fitted in- if somebody fails to give the right password, they get a bucket of vinegar emptied over their head. Oh yeah.

So, in summary-

Hufflepuffs are the Hobbits of Hogwarts.

Not to mention- we're all Potterheads, people. Each of the houses is great in its own way. Why should we fight, when the real enemy is CLEARLY Twilight?

Though we may be of different houses, our hearts beat as one. Now, forever, Always.

Now, let's go and fucking kill Edward Cullen. Sparkly bastard.

Love, Compassion, and a Golden Snitch

Well, lately I've sort of felt impatient with people. I'd suffered from a kind of depression over the last few months. The reasons of multiple- people are incredibly cruel, I felt trapped in my life, bad things happen, grief over lost relatives, etc...

But then I kind of gave myself a shake. I mean, come on. One in seven of all people on earth suffer from famine. All around on earth, there are people and animals who suffer and die every day, who are born into abusive families or who have no family.

And I'm sitting here moaning about things like people making mean comments? Come on.

I, and my friends and family, have all been incredibly lucky. Sure, some of us have family issues, or people are mean to them, but we have each other. And we're alive, and healthy.

That's why these days I kind of get annoyed when people moan these days, or get upset over little things. Because, well, when we have so much to be thankful for, why should we focus on the little things that go wrong?

I mean, if I told a lot of people my religion I'd be seen as either an idiot or a servant of Satan. A lot of people say that I'm a weirdo, say stuff about me behind my back, or even insult me to my face.

And do you know what? I couldn't care less. Why should I? Why should I let the fact that some people choose to be mean to me upset me? It's their loss, their problem. I think I'm a lot happier than them for it anyway. I have so much to be thankful and happy for in life, compared to so many, and I know that.

So, yeah. Inspirational stuff over. I just wanted to get that off my chest.

In other news, friend stuff seems to have gone to the crows. One of my friends is now cordially disliked by another two, one of whom talks about this regularly. This always makes me feel like a traitor.

Love, compassion, empathy. ACCEPTANCE. WE ARE ALL DOFFERENT. THAT IS A GOOD THING.

I need a break from all this stuff. Sheesh.

On a lighter note, one of my relatives has bought me a golden snitch that opens up to be a watch inside. It's a necklace and it rocks.

Maths Exams & Sherlock Hoodies

Recently had to do a maths exam. It was hell condensed into a period of fifty brutal minutes. You know that horrible fluttery panicky feeling you get when you realise you don't know what the hell you're doing?

Yeah.

That said, I was quite pleased with my mark. Should hopefully get me into a decent class for next year. I swear, in school they never live in the present. It's all about getting into a top class next year, and once you get into a good class it's about sustaining yourself so you're in a BETTER class next year. Blah.

Which is of course the recipe for misery.

I've recently been told that I'm a happy person. Ironically, this makes me happy.

But do you know what makes me REALLY happy?

My 'I Believe In Sherlock Holmes' hoodie arrived today. It is so beautiful it makes me want to cry. I nearly did cry when I unwrapped it. Now I can show my belief in Sherlock all the time.

Words cannot describe how that makes me feel.

The apprentice is on tonight. As usual, rooting for Ed Sheeran's Hufflepuff lookalike.

Life Is Good.

Report Upon Birthday Party Hippogriffs

Well, my birthday party went well. Nobody died, argued, or had a mental breakdown, that I am aware of. Plus, we watched Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban, and since its my birthday everybody had to listen to my ramblings and pretend to be interested.

I also now have a large amount of leftover crisps and chocolate. I should really exercise, but I can't be bothered. You will all have to accept that I will be taken from you at an early age due to the fatty degeneration of my heart.

That said, these chocolates are so tasty.

LOOK WHAT MY FRIENDS BROUGHT ME!

Its chocolate, but it's so sweet I can't bring myself to eat it.... And, my Ravenclaw friend made good on her promise and bought me a dragon! A dragon in Slytherpuff colours, green and yellow! And an Ed Sheeran CD I didn't even know existed. But which is freaking awesome.

So, yes. Thank you, my dear beloved Hippogriffs. I also spent rather a long time repeating 'I FUDGING LOVE YOU' over and over.

MMMM. FUDGE.

Here, have a picture.

I'm on the left, by the way. The one that looks manic rather than clinically depressed. Is that better? I think it's better. Maybe.

All in all, my birthday has served to remind me how much I love my friends. They are wonderful people who took the time to pick out charms for bracelets, write my name in black and yellow Hufflepuff colours, buy me chocolate with my name on it, and fill one side of a card with Potter/Hunger Games quotes.

Don't worry, I'm not gonna get soppy again. I've got a mustache.

Mischief Managed.

Birthdays, Bracelets, and Very Good Friends

So, you may be aware today is my birthday. Only problem is most of my presents haven't arrived, but I don't mind. I'm Zen, you know? Not that bothered about material goods.

That said, my Sirius Black t shirt is freaking awesome. So is my 'I Solemnly Swear I Am Up To No Good' bracelet. My parents got me a surprise camera, which is supermegafoxyawesomehot.

I have also realised that all of my friends are brilliant. They've been posting on my wall, making me cyber birthday cards, and are all coming round later for one helluva party.

By the way, I also count all of the people on my Sherlock page as being friends. Friends who I have never met, but friends nonetheless. We should totally all meet up sometime. From now on, whenever I go somewhere on holiday I'll say where I'm going, and if anybody lives near there we should meet up.

So- to both cyber and reality friends, I salute you. You are beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful hippogriffs, and sometimes I wonder why you bother with me. I am not nearly as good a friend to you as you are to me, but I will endeavour to be in the future. K?

I love you all. I even forgive my Ravenclawkward friend for the 242 dream beetles.

Forgiven, but not forgotten. I could never forget those beetles. *shudders*

So, on that note, I thank and salute: Cassie Ireland, Zoe Young, Emma Calder, Jodie Johnston, Sarah Middleton, Hannah Walker, Kirstin Oakley, Ewan Smith, and everybody on my Facebook page. I would mention all of your names, but there are over 400 of you, so it might take a while. Suffice to say, you are all brilliant people who have restored my faith in humanity time and time again.

Thank you so much for putting up with me. I love you all. If I ever get a book published, you will all be in the acknowledgements.

Mischief Managed.

Inner Wisdom & Being Queen Of The Nerds

I have, officially, embraced my inner nerdiness.

The evidence for this could be found in my MIDI class, where the lesson involved watching the trailer for the Return Of The King. This made me very happy indeed.

Through most of my first year I spent my time trying not to look like a weirdo in front of popular kids. Now I have accepted that I am a nerd. A Hufflepuff, hyperactive, frizzy haired nerd. And if you don't like it, then.

That was me doing a rude hand gesture. You can't really see it in writing. Imagine. Use your imagination.

You follow my blog, this is what you get. See? I'm encouraging you to express your emotions via creative visualisation. You don't get that in every badly written Internet blog. This blog isn't just about me realising I am Queen Of The Geeks. I'm also caring for the developement of your creative self.

Breathe deeply. Light some candles. Think about peace, love, Harry Potter, and hobbits. Those are the ingredients for a a happy life.

Oh yes, and it's my birthday the day after tomorrow. I'm hoping for a llama.

If I wasn't a vegetarian I'd really like to try sushi.

EEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH MACARENA!

Hufflepuff, Dream Beetles and Ed Sheeran Lookalikes

It's come to my attention that you hardly ever meet somebody who is a Hufflepuff. A lot of people are mean to Hufflepuffs, but that cool because one day they'll all be savaged by honey badgers.

Anyway, Hufflepuff rocks. I can't be the only one who's noticed that the common room looks EXACTLY like a hobbit hole, can I? Or that Hufflepuffs must all look like Bumblebees since their colours are yellow and black? Say what you like about us Huffles, but I think everything about our house is incredibly cute.

My Potter obsession has developed to a level I am now DREAMING in Potterhead.

I had a horrible dream that me and two of my friends (they're a Slytherin and a Ravenclaw) were just sitting in Potions class chatting, because that's how we roll. I'd just said something particularly private and embarrassing to my Slytherin friend, when she suddenly got this horrible look of terror in her eyes; I turned round and Professor Snape was standing there staring at me.

And then my Ravenclaw buddy spilt potion all over herself and started burning and seemed to develop three extra ears that suddenly grew from the middle of her forehead and then Snape did his Hermione act where he looked at her and said "I see no difference."

I then went crazy and started yelling at Snape and you would not believe how many House Points I lost. I also got a detention. This later turned out to be pulling the legs and eyes off dead beetles. Snape seemed to find my complaints about this rather amusing.

I also happen to know that aforementioned Ravenclaw friend sometimes reads this blog.

So, Mrs 'Oops-I've-Spilt-Potion-Over-Myself-Clumsy-Me', I HOPE YOU'RE BLOODY HAPPY. I TOOK A BULLET FROM SNAPE FOR YOU. YOU OWE ME TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY THREE EFFING BEETLES THAT I HAD TO DISSECT. Dream beetles, but they were still horrible and oily and they had too many legs and if I tore the carapace on any of them I had to START ALL OVER AGAIN.

That is true friendship. You owe me big time.

In other news, there's a guy on the Apprentice who looks like Ed Sheeran's Hufflepuff brother. This observation makes me very happy.

Alan Sugar just told Ed Sheeran's Hufflepuff Brother off and now he looks as if he's going to cry. Aww.
